Job Type: 06 Months Contract (May/may not Extend)
Working Hours: 7:30Hrs/day and 05 days/week

Salary Offerings: 55K to 60K / Month (Reasonably Negotiable)

About the Role:
Under limited direction, the Assistant to the High Commissioner (HOM) provides high-level executive support and is responsible for arranging and scheduling meetings, briefings, and associated administration, supporting the HOM and spouse-led events and functions, liaising with key stakeholders (both within the AHC and externally) and broader coordination and support to the Executive Office. This role works with a small team of Assistants, is required to regularly work outside of business hours and provides backup support to the HOM Executive Assistant.
The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
?? Cultivate and maintain an effective network of contacts, including with Indian government officials, diplomatic officials, academics, and business leaders, to arrange appointments and CVs for HOM to support a strong bilateral relationship.
?? Prepare and manage the HOM’s daily and forward program and schedule of appointments, including arranging official appointments, coordinating regional travel arrangements and security.
?? Organise, plan, and manage HOM’s representational and functions for the HOM including managing the delivery of multiple concurrent events, coordinating guest lists, overseeing event set up, and the completion of quarterly rep returns in accordance with policies and procedures.
?? Triage and respond to a range of requests, including correspondence, meeting requests and invitations for HOM attendance at functions, seeking advice from partner agencies where appropriate.
?? Provide current and meaningful advice on local diplomatic and cultural protocols.
?? Provide support for high level official visits, including the development of program elements in line with visit expectations and guidelines, secure meetings with Indian Ministers and senior officials or private sector contacts.
?? Maintain a list of up-to-date contacts in government, private sector, media, and the Diplomatic Corps and maintain up-to-date CVs of key stakeholders for inclusion in meeting and briefing documents

Qualifications/Experience required for the role:
?? Professional qualifications and experience in office management and organising functions/events.
?? Highly developed liaison and advocacy skills with the ability to co-ordinate and communicate confidently at high levels with Indian Government, foreign missions, and stakeholders and in the private sector.
?? Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with high-level Indian Government officials and other diplomatic missions and organisations.
?? Familiarity with Indian Government and organisation structures is an advantage.
?? An understanding of protocol issues either domestically or in a foreign context is desirable.
?? Demonstrated high-level ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
